Grapes were cool-fermented in a natural-surface cement tank with 15% as whole clusters. Gentle pump-overs follow until fermentation is complete and the wine is dry. All native malolactic fermentation. No added acids or adjuncts, only minimal effective SO2. Aged for 18 months in a neutral barrel on the fine lees.

OUR STORY
Rabbit Run Vineyard
Nestled in the heart of Anderson Valley lies the pastoral Rabbit Run Vineyard, named for the abundance of harried hares darting amongst its vines.
Rabbit Run has been a picturesque scene of nature’s playfulness for the past 25 years. Among those mesmerized by the vineyard’s charm is Ruben, the owner’s spirited dog, whose days are spent in joyful pursuit of the lively rabbits. Although he never manages to catch them, Ruben’s endless chases across the lush fields symbolize something greater — the spirited pursuit of a dream.
Just as Ruben chases the elusive rabbits, we at Brass Rabbit chase the elusive goal of crafting the perfect wine. Enjoy the rich, complex flavors of our Pinot Noir and join us in the chase for the extraordinary.
ABOUT THE VINEYARD
Formally the Zicherman-Roemer Vineyard, this 22-acre site is situated just off Hwy 128 in Boonville. Exactly 4 acres of Chardonnay and 18 acres of Pinot Noir vines are rooted in well-draining, alluvial soils, mostly loam and gravelly loam. Rabbit Run is in a protected, low-lying, narrow funnel of the valley. Though protected, it can still experience large diurnal temperature fluctuations (up to 50 degrees at times) from night to the heat of the day.
The site is certified Fish Friendly Farming (FFF), which means agricultural practices are focused on restoring wildlife habitat and improving water quality, with heightened awareness of runoff and erosion. It holds farmers to some of the highest standards of any green certification program.
